Empty Shabbat Table In Highland Park For 242 Israeli Hostages

HIGHLAND PARK, NJ — Starting at 4 p.m. this Friday, Nov. 3 and running through the weekend, a group called Central New Jersey Stands with Israel invites the public to visit "The Empty Shabbat Table."

The Empty Shabbat Table is set for the 242 hostages taken in the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attacks in southern Israel, where at least 1,400 people were killed. Many of those 239 are still being held hostage as of today, with a few having been released.

The table will be set at 148 Raritan Avenue (the Sunoco property) in Highland Park. From 4 - 4:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, there will be a short program, including the singing of Shabbat songs.

The table will be available to visit all through the weekend and will be set up through Nov. 5.
