Essex and Middlesex Players Split Jersey Cash 5 Jackpot
Three days into 2015 and now three winners of the Jersey Cash 5 jackpot.
Two players from Essex and Middlesex counties split the $72,564 jackpot for the Jersey Cash 5 drawing on Saturday, Jan. 3. Each player will win $36,282.
This was the third win for the Jersey Cash 5 since 2015 began. The winning Essex County ticket was purchased at Shoprite of West Orange in the Essex Green Shopping Center on Prospect Avenue in West Orange. The winning Middlesex County ticket was purchased at Stop and Shop, located at 647 Route 18 South in East Brunswick.
The winning tickets were the only two sold that matched all five numbers drawn in Saturday’s drawing, according to executive director Carole Hedinger. The winning numbers were 10, 12, 15, 21 and 31.

“We are thrilled that the winning jackpot tickets were sold at Shoprite of West Orange and Stop and Shop No. 2809,” Hedinger said in a press release. “This is a fantastic start of the New Year for New Jersey Lottery players and retailers. For selling these tickets, each retailer will receive a bonus check for $2,000. Overnight, they have become two more ‘lucky locations’ for the very fortunate lottery winners.”
Cash prizes totaling $51,279 were split among 2,301 other players following the Saturday drawing. Sixty-nine players won prizes of $355 each for correctly picking four numbers, while 2,232 players won $12 each for correctly picking three numbers.
