Free Developmental Screenings For Children To Be Held In New Brunswick

Experts from the Children's Specialized Hospital will hold free early developmental screenings for children in New Brunswick.

Experts from the Children’s Specialized Hospital will hold free early developmental screenings for children in New Brunswick.

Screenings will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 21 at the New Brunswick Free Public Library, 60 Livingston Ave.

The screenings are for children ages 1- to 5-years-old. Some 13 percent of children in the United States have developmental delays and many are not identified before kindergarten, according to a notice about the event.

The screening takes about a half hour and will include a questionnaire and conversation between children, parents and hospital staff, according to the hospital’s website.

The program is sponsored by Kohl’s Autism Awareness.
