Gary Nova Will Start at QB for Rutgers Against Temple

Nova will start his 21st consecutive game after coach Kyle Flood opened up the competition during the week.

After some discussion of who will start at quarterback when the Rutgers University football team hosts Temple on Saturday, coach Kyle Flood chose to stick with the player who’s held the position all year.

Gary Nova will start his 21st consecutive game at the position, Flood announced Thursday night. Flood opened up competition at the position after Nova threw seven interceptions in his last two games, including three in a 49-14 loss to Houston last week and four in a 24-10 loss at Louisville on Oct. 10.

Senior Chas Dodd was also competing for the position in practice this week.
