HIGHLAND PARK, NJ — Think you've got what it takes? Enter what has become an end-of-summer tradition in Highland Park, the Highland Park Hot Pepper Eating Contest.

The contest will be held at 2 p.m. this Friday, August 30, and is open to anyone who thinks they can stomach the spiciest of hot peppers. Check out the event and Facebook page for more info and to sign up ... if you dare!

The contest is free to enter. Participants must be 18 or older and must be present at 2:00 p.m. sharp at the Market staff table under the pavilion on August 30.

The Highland Park Farmers Market Hot Pepper Eating Contest is hosted by the town's very own beloved celebrity chef David Bell of Capsaicin Chiles.

If you don't want to enter, you can simply just show up to watch the insanity. Winners get a bag of Farmers Market treats.
