Macy's at Middlesex Mall to Close Soon

South Plainfield, NJ - Sorry if you shopped at the Macy’s at Middlesex Mall.

The store is one of 36 that will be shut down nationwide, citing “disappointing 2015 sales,” according to Macy’s CEO Terry Lundgren.

The Middlesex Mall Macy’s will close soon, sometime in the next few months, according to reports. There are 30 Macy’s in New Jersey, and the Middlesex Mall location is the only one that has been forced to close.

It opened in 1976. No word yet on what will happen to the 69 store employees who work there, but they may be placed in other Macy’s jobs.
