Man, 19, Shot And Killed At New Brunswick Bar Thursday Night

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A 19-year-old man was killed in a shooting in New Brunswick Thursday night, announced Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and New Brunswick Police Director Anthony Caputo.

At approximately 11:10 p.m. Thursday, police were called to La Famosa Bar, located at 117 Remsen Avenue in New Brunswick for a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located two male victims, both who sustained gunshot wounds and were taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for treatment.

Enger Abreu, 19, of New Brunswick, succumbed to his gunshot wounds and died at the hospital. A third male victim was located at a nearby home and transported to the hospital as well.

Police say this does not appear to be a random act of violence, and the perpetrators and victims may have known each other.
