Man Creeps Into New Brunswick Bedroom, Police Report

BREAKING: It happened early Wednesday morning in an area where many students live off campus. The victim was affiliated with Rutgers.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - A New Brunswick woman awoke early Wednesday to find a man in her bedroom, New Brunswick police announced. The incident happened on Stone Street, between Sicard Street and College Avenue, early this morning. It's an area where many Rutgers students live off campus and the woman is affiliated with Rutgers University, campus police confirmed.

The woman awoke to find an unidentified male in her bedroom. When she confronted him, he fled out the rear door, police said. The suspicious individual is described as a black male, approximately 6 feet in height and 160 pounds in weight. He had short braids in his hair and was wearing a dark zip-up hoodie with black pants.

The woman was not injured in the incident.

The New Brunswick Police Department would like to remind residents to lock windows and doors, when not at home and while asleep in the residence. As the weather gets warmer, open windows and doors are an easy target for burglars and trespassers.
