Man Fired Gun Inside New Brunswick Home, Shot Woman, Police Say

A New Brunswick man was arrested Thursday night after police said he got into an argument and fired a gun inside a home, shooting a woman.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A New Brunswick man was arrested Thursday night after police said he got into an argument and fired a gun inside a home, shooting a woman.

Almein Archer, 45, was taken into police custody Thursday evening in the area Remsen Avenue and Seaman Street. Police say the shooting occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, April 30 inside a home on Comstock Street.

Police say he fired a gun inside the home at 1:30 a.m. that night after getting into a verbal dispute with other occupants of the residence. A woman, 49, of New Brunswick sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to an area hospital where she was treated for the non-life threatening injury.

Archer has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons offenses.
