Man Shot On New Brunswick Street Dies, Prosecutor Says

The man, 33, was shot Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. and died Wednesday at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital.

New Brunswick, NJ - A 33-year-old man was shot on a New Brunswick street at the beginning of this week, and died Wednesday in the hospital, Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Director Anthony Caputo of the New Brunswick Police Department said Thursday afternoon.

Marcos Hernandez, 33, of Passaic was shot Monday on Drift Street. He died Wednesday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, where he was being treated for a gunshot wound.

Another 27-year-old man, who also was shot, remains in hospital care.

Both men were taken to the hospital after they were shot on Drift Street in New Brunswick at about 6:30 p.m. on March 7.

Detective Drew Weiss of the New Brunswick Police Department and Detective Craig Marchak of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating.

No arrests have been made but the investigation is active and is continuing.
