Man Killed By Train At New Brunswick Station Monday

The adult man was hit at 6:20 p.m. Monday by an NJ Transit train at the New Brunswick station.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A man was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train Monday evening at the New Brunswick train station, said NJ Transit spokesman Jim Smith.

The adult man was hit at approximately 6:20 p.m. by Northeast Corridor train 3867, which departed Penn Station New York at 5:29 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Trenton at 6:58 p.m., said Smith.

The train was carrying about 500 passengers.

Northeast Corridor rail service was temporarily suspended in both directions between Metropark and Princeton Junction.

New Jersey Transit Police are leading the investigation. The man's identity has not been released nor is it known if he was walking on the tracks.
