Man Shot And Killed Sunday Night In New Brunswick

A local man was shot and killed just before 11 p.m. in the area of Throop Avenue and Delavan Street:

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — There was a fatal shooting Sunday night in New Brunswick.

At approximately 10:54 p.m., police were called to the area of Throop Avenue and Delavan Street following calls of a shooting, said the Middlesex County Prosecutor and New Brunswick Police.

Upon arrival, officers located one man who sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, Markel Williams, 28, of New Brunswick, was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

This is not a act of violence and there does not appear to be a threat to the public.
