New Brunswick Caribbean Festival Is This Saturday

Families will get to experience a free festival with "island vibes" featuring Caribbean cuisine, music and dance performances:

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — The seventh annual Caribbean Festival will take place this Saturday, August 27 in New Brunswick.

The festival goes from 2-6 p.m. at Recreation Park at 7 Pine Street in New Brunswick.

This is a family-friendly festival and all are welcome. Families will get to experience a free festival with "island vibes" featuring Caribbean cuisine, music and dance performances (reggae, soca and calypso), learn about the English, Spanish, French and Dutch- speaking Caribbean islands and more.

Well-known local percussionist “Ras Ujimma” Parris will perform. Parris is also one of the pioneers behind the live music scene in New Brunswick, and mentoring young musicians in the city.

7th Annual Caribbean Festival

Saturday, August 27, 2pm – 6pm – Recreation Park, 7 Pine Street, New Brunswick

11th Annual Central Jersey Jazz Festival

Saturday, September 10, 1pm – 6pm – In front of New Brunswick Performing Arts Center (NBPAC) at 11 Livingston Ave, New Brunswick

This unique, live Jazz festival is hosted in partnership with Flemington, New Brunswick, Somerville, and Metuchen.

Arts New Brunswick Festival and MCFOODS Food Drive

Saturday, September 17, 2pm – 5pm – In front of New Brunswick Performing Arts Center (NBPAC) at 11 Livingston Ave, New Brunswick

Celebrating Latin Heritage Month, Hub City Music Festival, and Hunger Action Month.

Corazon Latino Festival/ Día de Muertos/ Trick or Treat Around Town

Sunday, October 30, 2pm – 5pm – Downtown New Brunswick

Featuring live performances in front of New Brunswick Performing Arts Center (NBPAC) on Livingston Avenue, and Trick or Treating on George Street and French Street.
