New Brunswick Hospital Expanding Family Health Clinic For The Neediest
Saint Peter's University Hospital is in the midst of a $12-million expansion of its family health center, to serve the area's neediest:

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — Saint Peter’s University Hospital is currently in the midst of a $12-million expansion and modernization project of its Saint Peter’s Family Health Center, located at 123 How Lane in the city of New Brunswick.
This is a family healthcare center meant to provide primary and specialty care to the underserved, uninsured and underinsured community of New Brunswick and surrounding area.
Approximately 85 to 90 percent of patients at Saint Peter’s Family Health Center are covered by the Affordable Care Act, Medicaid or the New Jersey Hospital Care Payment Assistance Program, otherwise known as "charity care."

Saint Peter's just received $5 million from the state for the expansion. Plans include increasing the 49 adult, pediatric and women’s health exam rooms to 75, renovating the reception area, adding a new on-site laboratory facility; expanding the behavioral health area, creating a large physical therapy space and doing HVAC upgrades.
Saint Peter’s Family Health Center currently treats 60,000 patients per year but upon completion, the 73,000-square-foot facility will have the capacity for 100,000 yearly patients.

It is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2023.
New Jersey Assembly Speaker Craig J. Coughlin (D-19th District), Assemblymen Joseph V. Egan (D-17th District) and Joe Danielsen (D-17th District) toured the family health center Monday with Saint Peter's CEO Leslie Hirsch.
