New Brunswick Man Charged With Fatal Stabbing Of Edison Man

Rahmaad Howard, 34, is charged with stabbing Barry James, 36, of Edison, to death on Monday on New Brunswick city streets.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — Rahmaad Howard of New Brunswick is now charged with stabbing Barry James, 36, of Edison, to death on Monday of this week, announced the Middlesex County Prosecutor.

This is this stabbing where James' body was found by New Brunswick Police at 6:29 a.m. Monday in the area of Throop Avenue and Townsend Street.

James succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at a local hospital.

An investigation led by Detective Raymond Quick of the New Brunswick Police Department and Detective Walter Kelley of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office identified Howard, 34, as the perpetrator, said the prosecutor.

This was not a random act of violence; Howard knew the victim, said police.

On Tuesday, Howard was arrested without incident in New Brunswick and has been charged with one count of first-degree murder and weapons offenses.
