A 22-year-old New Brunswick man was arrested and charged for the possession of a loaded hand-gun and hallow point ammunition late Monday.

A 22-year-old New Brunswick man was arrested and charged for the possession of a loaded hand-gun and hallow point ammunition late Monday night.

Najee K. Croom of Wright Street was reportedly traveling South on Norma Avenue around 10:48 p.m. when a Franklin Township patrol officer noticed the 1998 Ford Taurus he was in didn’t have its headlights on.

  • A motor vehicle stop of the vehicle was conducted at the intersection of Hamilton Avenue and Millstone Road in Franklin Township.
  • After speaking with the occupants of the vehicle it was ascertained that Najee K. Croom, the front seat passenger, was wanted on an outstanding North Brunswick Municipal Court warrant.
  • A search of defendant Croom revealed a silver Walther 9mm handgun tucked inside his waistband. The gun’s chamber and clip were loaded with hollow point ammunition.
  • Defendant Croom was arrested and charged with Possession of a Handgun, 2nd Degree and Possession of Hollow Point Ammunition, 4th Degree.
