New Brunswick Man Drowned In Middlesex Co. Lake
It was New Brunswick man who drowned Wednesday while swimming in Dallenbach Lake in East Brunswick.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — It was New Brunswick man who drowned Wednesday while swimming in Dallenbach Lake in East Brunswick.
The man who died was identified as Carlos Iraheta-Cortes, 59, of New Brunswick.
At 3:34 p.m. Wednesday, East Brunswick Police received a 911 call of a man who went under the surface of the lake without resurfacing.

Following an extensive search of the lake, the Perth Amboy Police and Fire Dive Team located Iraheta-Cortes' body and removed him from the water. RWJBarnabas Health and other EMT agencies tried CPR and other life-saving techniques at the scene, but he was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Dallenbach Lake is located at 380 Dunhams Corner Road in East Brunswick. It is the lake next to Crystal Springs, a popular family water park for kids and teens. However, Dallenbach Lake is not open for swimming. There are no lifeguards.

"I want to express my sincere gratitude to every first responder who worked tirelessly throughout this operation ... On behalf of the East Brunswick Police Department, I extend our deepest condolences to Mr. Iraheta-Cortes' family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time."
