A New Brunswick resident was shot in an area park on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - A New Brunswick resident was shot in an area park on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
The shooting occurred around 5:30 p.m. in the rear of Joyce Kilmer Park near the railroad tracks, New Brunswick police said in a statement.
An initial investigation found that the shooting stemmed from an altercation between two adult men. One of the men sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen, while the other fled on a dirt bike towards Handy Street, police said.

The gunshot victim, a 24-year-old from New Brunswick, was taken to an area hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
A description for the alleged shooter is limited, police said, but the dirt bike is described as blue, black and silver in color.
