New Brunswick Woman Speaks About Surviving Accident, Faith In Christ
A local woman will talk Sept. 18 at the New Brunswick Library about how she survived a horrific accident that left her permanently disabled.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — Next Monday, Sept. 18 a New Brunswick woman who is also a published author will give a talk at the New Brunswick Free Public Library about how she survived a horrific accident that left her permanently disabled.
The woman is Jeanine Senerote Valenti, and she wrote the book "Rise to the Occasion: From Tragedy to Triumph, a Christian Perspective."
On the day after Thanksgiving in 2001, one tragic second changed almost everything she knew in her life. Valenti — the mother of three young children — experienced an accident that affected her career, her future, her home and her body.

However, what didn’t waiver was her family, her husband, her three children and their strong Christian faith.
In "Rise to the Occasion," she narrates the two parts to her story — the pre-injured part that holds many wonderful memories, and the post-injured part that has been transformative and gratifying in ways she couldn’t imagine or predict. In this memoir, she tells how God taught her he isn’t the cause of injury and why tragedies occur, especially to good people.

"It wasn't until I reached my weakest point that I understood just how strong I am through Christ who strengthens me and remains with me to keep me safe throughout my day," she writes. "Twenty years injured and counting, I have been transformed and an eager instrument to do the useful work God places before me. What an honor it has been. Please allow our good and kind God to inspire you through my story and help Him to improve your life ways you never thought possible."
Valenti will speak at 7 p.m. Monday, September 18 in the Carl T. Valenti Community Room of the New Brunswick Public Library. Free admission.
