Person Assaulted On New Brunswick Campus: Rutgers Police

Rutgers Police reported an aggravated assault on campus early Saturday morning, and said one person was transported to a local hospital.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — Rutgers Police reported an aggravated assault on campus Saturday morning, and said one person was transported to a local hospital.

The victim "was struck with a closed fist" by an unknown suspect at 4:20 a.m. Saturday near 40 College Avenue, on the New Brunswick campus, according to university police. The victim is affiliated with the university, police said.

"The victim was physically injured during the incident and transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries," Rutgers Police said on Saturday.

"The description of the perpetrator is limited at this time."

Anyone with information, or who may have been in the area at the time, is asked to contact the RUPD’s Detective Bureau at 848-932-8025.
