Piscataway Man Fatally Shot North Brunswick Man, Prosecutor Says

The murder happened on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 14 in North Brunswick Township.

NORTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A Piscataway man was charged Wednesday with fatally shooting a North Brunswick resident last week. Jerome Davis, 40, of Piscataway was charged with murder and burglary following an investigation into the Sunday, May 14 fatal shooting of Patrick Olarerin, 57, of North Brunswick.

Davis was arrested and taken into custody on the day of the shooting. Police began the investigation after the victim was found in his apartment at 5:15 a.m. on Sunday, May 14 and was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, where he died a short time later.

Davis was charged with the homicide on Friday, May 19.

He was charged during an investigation by Detective Seeta Jones of the North Brunswick Police Department and Detective David Abromaitis of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

The investigation is active and is continuing.
