Raccoon With Rabies Found in Carteret
Rabies has been found in Middletown and Woodbridge, as well.

Carteret, NJ - A raccoon found and trapped in Carteret has tested positive for rabies, according to the Middlesex County Office of Health Services.
The raccoon was found in the area of Hastings Place and Wedgewood Drive in Carteret. The county will be holding many upcoming rabies clinics in January, where you can bring your dog and cat and have them vaccinated against this deadly virus. Find all the rabies clinics here.
In late November, a fox in Colonia tested positive for rabies. The fox had collapsed and was near death when it was recovered by Animal Control officers near the Claremont Avenue School. And Middletown, N.J. just reported its tenth case of rabies on Tuesday: A raccoon found Dec. 24 came in contact with a dog, and tested positive for rabies. The dog is currently being monitored for symptoms.
