Report: Rutgers Coach Was Told Not To Contact Instructor

School officials are investigating an email the coach sent to an instructor about the status of one his players, according to NJ.com.

Rutgers football coach Kyle Flood contacted an instructor about one of his players, even though the school’s academic support staff told him not to reach out to that professor, according to NJ.com, which quoted two sources in its report.

School officials are investigating an email Flood sent to a Mason Gross School of Arts instructor about the status of one his players, Nadir Barnwell, NJ Advance Media has previously reported.

Flood declined comment to NJ.com on Wednesday.

Quoting sources, NJ.com reported that the issue arose after a member of the school’s academic support staff learned in May that Barnwell was not going to pass one of his classes.

According to NBC Sports, Rutgers coaches are not allow to have direct contact with their players’ instructors.
