Rutgers Building Evacuated Due To Gas Leak Tuesday

An academic building (not a dorm) on the Rutgers New Brunswick campus was evacuated Tuesday after someone reported an odor of gas:

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — An academic building (not a dorm) on the Rutgers New Brunswick campus was evacuated Tuesday morning due to a gas leak, according to the chief of campus police.

The building was Scott Hall, an academic building on the Rutgers–New Brunswick campus, said Rutgers Police Chief Kenneth Cop. No injuries were reported to either students or staff.

Someone in the building reported a gas odor, which caused the evacuation.

As of 5 p.m. Tuesday, Scott Hall reopened and normal classroom operations resumed.
