Rutgers Men's Basketball Team Falls to Drexel in NIT Season Tip-Off

The Dragons advanced to the semifinals with a 70-59 win at Rutgers Tuesday night.

Despite a second consecutive double double from junior forward Kadeem Jack, the Rutgers University men’s basketball team was eliminated from the NIT Season Tip-Off Tuesday night

Drexel eliminated Rutgers with a 70-59 win at Rutgers in the quarterfinals, according to espn.com.

Jack, who posted 13 points and 11 rebounds in Monday night’s win over Canisius, registered an almost identical 13 points and 10 rebounds against Drexel.

Junior guard D’Von Campbell had 12 points, and senior forward J.J. Moore added 10.

Drexel (3-1) was led by Tavon Allen, who scored 21 points, including 16 in the second half. The Dragons will face Arizona, an 87-59 winner over Rhode Island, in the semifinals at Madison Square Garden next week.

The Scarlet Knights fell to 3-2 on the season. They trailed by five at halftime, but the Dragons opened up their lead in the second to pull away for the win.
