Rutgers Student Robbed At 4 A.M. In New Brunswick
Breaking: There were actually three people robbed this past weekend, all while walking alone in downtown New Brunswick after dark.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A Rutgers student was punched and then robbed while walking on the streets of downtown New Brunswick just before 4 a.m. Sunday, April 29, police said.
There were actually three people robbed this past weekend, all while walking alone in New Brunswick after dark.
In the first incident, someone not affiliated with Rutgers said he was walking at the intersection of French and Plum streets at 2:15 a.m. Saturday, April 28 when he passed a group of men. The men approached him, struck him and knocked him to the ground, and then grabbed some of his personal property. They fled the area in multiple directions.

He needed to be treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.
Then on Sunday, a Rutgers student said he was walking on Easton Avenue at Wyckoff Street 3:45 a.m. when he was approached by two men who demanded items of value before striking him and taking his personal property.

A short while later, a third man, who is not affiliated with Rutgers, told police he was also walking home along Easton Ave. when he was approached by two men, who struck him before taking his personal property and fleeing in a nearby vehicle.
No weapons were used in any incident. Descriptions of the perpetrators are limited at this time. The New Brunswick Police Department asks that anyone with information, or who may have been in the area at the time of these robberies, to contact the New Brunswick Police Department Detective Bureau at 732-745-5217.
Rutgers campus police also remind people to avoid walking alone in dark or isolated areas.
