Rutgers Student Robbed On Christmas Eve

A Rutgers student was punched and robbed while walking in New Brunswick at 2 a.m. on Christmas Eve, said Rutgers campus police.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A Rutgers student was punched and robbed while walking in New Brunswick at 2 a.m. on Christmas Eve, said Rutgers campus Police.

The robbery occurred at 2 a.m. Dec. 24 on Hamilton Street between High and Division streets.

Police say the victim, who is affiliated with Rutgers University, reported that while walking he was approached by approximately five individuals who assaulted him using their fists. Following the assault, the perpetrators fled the area with the victim's personal property. The victim sustained minor physical injuries as a result of the assault.

The New Brunswick Police Department asks that anyone with information, or who may have been in the area at the time, contact the NBPD’s Detective Bureau at 732-745-5217.
