Serious Car Crash On Rt. 27 In Highland Park Tuesday Evening

HIGHLAND PARK, NJ — Large crowds have gathered for a multi-vehicle car crash on Rt. 27 in Highland Park Tuesday evening.

The crash happened shortly after 6 p.m. on Rt. 27 near the intersection of County Road 514, according to the NJ Department of Transportation. All lanes of Rt. 27 are closed in both directions north of CR 514/Woodbridge Avenue in Highland Park due to the crash, they said. Follow the detour or avoid the area due to heavily backed-up traffic.

According to unconfirmed reports on Twitter, the crash involved three vehicles total.

Highland Park Police have not immediately returned a request from Patch for more information, and are deferring all questions about the crash to the Middlesex County Prosecutor.
