Summer Blood Drive for Cancer Patients - Monday June 17th

Our patients need your help! On Monday, June 17th, the RWJ Blood Services team in collaboration with Rutgers Cancer Institute will be holding a blood drive between 7:30am-7:00pm.

The available supply of blood and platelets is extremely low during the summer months for cancer patients and many people with cancer require blood products at some point during their treatment, and blood transfusions can act as a resource to implement platelets back into the body after heavy treatments such as chemo or radiation therapy.

All donors will receive a Starbucks or Wawa gift card, and all blood types are needed, but there is a particular shortage of type O and platelets.

Please make time to donate if you are able and share this information with your family and friends and ask them to donate at the June 17th drive or at any collection facility convenient to them.

Everyone can help spread the word regardless of your ability to personally donate blood.
