Two Women Say They Were Inappropriately Touched At Rutgers University
Two women say they were inappropriately touched this October on the Rutgers campus. One of the incidents happened in a laundry room:
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — Not only do police say two young women were sexually assaulted when a man climbed into their apartment through an open window over the weekend, but two other women say they were inappropriately touched this October on the Rutgers campus:
The most recent incident occurred Sunday afternoon in the College Avenue Student Center, where a woman said a man inappropriately touched her. Two weeks prior, on Monday night, Oct. 17, a woman said she was inappropriately touched while using the laundry room.
At approximately 5:15 p.m. Sunday, a female Rutgers student said a man approached her at the College Avenue Student Center and started a conversation with her. During the conversation, he dropped an item in her lap and then touched her in an intimate area while retrieving the item.

The victim was not physically injured during the incident. Police are investigating this as an incident of criminal sexual contact.
The description of the perpetrator is an African-American man, six feet tall, approximately 180 pounds, in his late twenties or early thirties, wearing a black baseball cap, sunglasses and dark clothing with a blue vest.

Prior to this, at 10 p.m. on Oct. 17, a female Rutgers student said she was inappropriately touched in the laundry room of Easton Avenue (University Center).
The woman said that while in the laundry room a man engaged her in conversation. During the encounter, he grabbed the victim on the buttocks with his hand. She was not physically injured.
The perpetrator is described as a college-age man, wearing a black sweatshirt with a hood, and possibly black or red shorts.
The Rutgers University Police Department asks that anyone with information on either incident contact the RUPD’s Detective Bureau at 848-932-8025.
