VIDEO: Christie Jokes About Beating Up New Brunswick Reporter
Christie's remarks were met with scattered laughter during a press conference on Atlantic City's finances

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ-- In a video by New Brunswick Today, Chris Christie jokingly tells veteran reporters to "beat up the new guy," referring to New Brunswick Today Editor Charlie Kratovil.
Kratovil was asking about how much influence Donald Trump was given in Atlantic City during an April press conference on the city's financial status, and if Trump had any honor. The video resurfaced today following the second presidential debate, where Trump's integrity was a subject of discussion.
"It would not be a press conference on something serious without some joker asking me about Donald Trump," Christie said, adding that Trump was not involved in any negotiations regarding Atlantic City's finances.

Kratovil continued in his line of questioning, which is hard to hear in the video, before Christie interrupted him.
"Listen, you get one Trump question a press conference when I'm actually out here on substance, and the new guy back there, go beat him up, he's the one that took-- That's, absolutely ridiculous-- Can't hear you, don't know, can't hear you, sorry," Christie said to scattered laughter. The video ends there.

Christie had come under scrutiny after reports revealed that under Christie's administration, nearly $30 million of Trump's Atlantic City related tax debt was forgiven. The Trump Taj Mahal, which Trump has not been directly involved with since 2004, closed permanently this morning.
