Well-Known Rutgers Grad Quits Social Media Over Death, Rape Threat
A prominent feminist writer said she is quitting social media after a "rape and death threat" was made against her 5-year-old daughter.

Rutgers - A well-known Rutgers grad and prominent feminist writer said she is quitting social media after a "rape and death threat" was made against her 5-year-old daughter.
Jessica Valenti, who lives in Brooklyn, earned a master's degree in women's and gender studies from Rutgers and now works as a daily columnist for The Guardian. Here's her most recent column, on Michelle Obama's speech. She is also the founder of the Feministing blog and her writing has appeared in The Nation and in Ms. magazine.
On Wednesday, Valenti said she was quitting social media because of a death and rape threat made her against her young daughter, in response to her feminist writing. She also said police do not take social media threats seriously enough.

Valenti did not explain what the threat directly said or what it was in response to.
