NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — On Saturday, Dec. 25 New Jersey logged 16,626 new positives, the highest ever recorded since the pandemic first began, according to the state's COVID dashboard.

These incredibly high COVID case numbers are in part because of all the testing, and also because of the super contagious omicron variant. There are just under 3,000 people hospitalized with COVID in New Jersey as of Monday.
