New Brunswick Man Accused Of Fatally Stabbing Stepdaughter

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A 64-year-old man is accused of killing his stepdaughter, 20, inside a private home Tuesday morning in New Brunswick, the Middlesex County Prosecutor said.

Teodulo Habana, 64, of New Brunswick, has been charged in connection with the homicide of Lissi Rodriguez-Sanchez, 20, of New Brunswick.

At 9:12 a.m. Tuesday, police were called to a home on the 30 block of Juliet Street after receiving a report that there were two injured people inside.

Upon arrival, officers located the woman and man, both injured. She had multiple stab wounds, and she died at the scene.

Habana sustained serious injuries and was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.

Police say Habana is the stepfather of Rodriguez-Sanchez. It was also determined that Habana’s wounds were self-inflicted, and he was the perpetrator of this crime.

Habana has been charged with first-degree Murder, third-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and fourth-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
