Young Debaters Triumph: Cedar Hill Prep Excels at State Debate League

Sixth Graders Earn Top Honors and Tackle Complex Topics in Their Debut Tournament

SOMERSET, NJ — December 7, 2024 — Cedar Hill Prep School proudly participated in the Garden State Debate League Tournament, presenting an impressive lineup of talented sixth-grade students. For many of these young debaters, it was their first time competing—and they delivered outstanding performances!


The tournament tackled a variety of thought-provoking topics, including:

  • Should extinct species be resurrected?
  • Should school grading be restricted to Pass/Fail?
  • Is hate speech a 1st Amendment right?
  • Does the Electoral College do more harm than good?

Cedar Hill Prep students rose to the occasion, demonstrating exceptional critical thinking, eloquence, and poise throughout the competition. Among the standout performances:

  • R. Aman earned the prestigious 2nd Best Speaker award.
  • M. Indupuru secured the 5th Best Speaker honor.
  • V. Badhan was recognized as the Top Speaker for Cedar Hill Prep.
