NEW MILFORD, NJ — Residents are invited to participate in the second Land Use Visioning Community Engagement Meeting next month.
The event will be held on Monday, Aug. 17, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at New Milford Borough Hall.
The meeting, hosted by the Borough of New Milford in partnership with Rutgers University and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Blue Acres Program, will focus on land use restoration opportunities for Blue Acres buyout properties along the Hackensack River.
During the session, Rutgers University will present landscape design concepts developed from resident feedback gathered during the June 2026 community meeting. Attendees will also learn about the project's next steps and have an opportunity to ask questions and provide additional input.
The meeting is open to the public and is part of an ongoing effort to shape the future use of former flood-prone properties through community engagement.
