3 Arrested Following Police Chase In New Providence

The three suspects, wanted in connection to a theft at a New Providence business, were arrested after crashing into a tree, police say.

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ — Three people were arrested after they fled from police and crashed into a tree in New Providence Thursday.

At around 2:40 p.m., a theft at a downtown business was reported and a description of the involved vehicle and the occupants was given.

The wanted vehicle was found and when a Patrol Officer tried to pull the car over it sped off. It later crashed into a tree at the intersection of Sagamore Drive and Southgate Road, New Providence Police reported.

Three people were arrested as a result.

The matter is under investigation by the New Providence Police Detective Bureau.
