Writers who want to read their work aloud can sign up at the door, with each reading limited to six minutes.

The program is open to teens and adults, whether they want to share their writing or simply attend the event.

Writers of varying experience levels can participate. The library says writers, "professional or amateur," are encouraged to read their original work during the event.

The open mic is hosted by NOWA — Network of Writers & Artists, according to the library.

Those who would rather listen are welcome as well, with the library noting that "all are welcome to come and listen."

The event will be followed by a book signing featuring authors scheduled to appear at the New Providence Book Festival the following weekend.

The library's listing does not provide additional information about the book-signing portion of the program or indicate that registration is required. For more information, contact the New Providence Memorial Library at 908-665-0311 or info@newprovlibrary.org.
