Sustainable Berkeley Heights Returns to Clean Up More of Snyder Avenue Park

Following a successful Adopt-A-Beach Clean Up held a few days earlier, Sustainable Berkeley Heights returned to Snyder Avenue Park on March 28 for a "second helping," to gather additional litter around the Snyder Avenue Park turf field and bleachers.
The group, which had partnered with Val's Valiants, the Berkeley Heights Environmental Commission (BHEC), and the Berkeley Heights Downtown Beautification Committee (DBC) the prior Sunday, was unsatisfied with the 138.5 pounds of litter they previously collected. They know that litter lurked under the leaves along the fence separating the turf field from the bleachers, and were determined to put that litter in its proper place to help welcome teams and fans to a cleaner field at the beginning of the spring sports season.
The amount of recyclables and trash playing hide-and-seek was shocking. The group uncovered a total of 15 pounds of this litter, finding everything from lacrosse balls and plastic pom pon streamers to sneakers, photos, and juice boxes.
