NEW PROVIDENCE/BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ — Meet Benny! He has been chosen as New Providence-Berkeley Heights Patch's Pet Of The Week.

"This is our 5 year old Cocker Spaniel, Benny. Our daughter worked at the animal emergency hospital where he was dropped off after being accidentally hit by the owner's vehicle at the age of 1. The owner disappeared, but at least he took him to the right place.

Benny had a broken pelvis that healed after a few weeks with no surgery. He had to remain in a crate during this time. He has since made up for a rough start!

He is the best companion anyone could ask for. He loves meeting new people and their pets, going on hikes in the woods, teasing the cat, chewing things, belly rubs and back massages, and peanut butter. He hates going to the groomer and water (no kayaking for him!)"
