Event Details

Governor Livingston High School, 175 Watchung Blvd, Berkeley Heights, NJ, 07922

The New Providence Amateur Radio Club will be participating in the national emergency preparedness exercise known as "Field Day" on Saturday and Sunday, June 27 and 28 at the back field at Governor Livingston High School.

"Field Day" is an opportunity for radio amateurs to demonstrate to the public our emergency response capabilities using Ham Radio.

The public is invited to attend. It will take place over a 24 hour period starting at 2PM Saturday, June 27 and ending at 2PM Sunday, June 28.

NPARC will be operating several ham radio short wave stations and connecting with other stations across the United States and Canada using emergency power only, simulating conditions when all other means of communications fail.

The New Providence Amateur Radio Club is a diverse group of federally licensed "hams" of all ages dedicated to assisting local communities in emergency communications and in fostering international good will.

Information about NPARC can be found at www.nparc.org or email k2al@arrl.net for more information about becoming an amateur radio operator.
