Delayed Opening For Local Schools Due To Frigid Weather

​New Providence, Berkeley Heights and Mountainside schools all habe a delayed opening Thursday due to predicted frigid temperatures.

New Providence, Berkeley Heights and Mountainside schools all habe a delayed opening Thursday, Jan. 31 due to predicted frigid temperatures.

New Providence:

The High School and Middle School delayed opening start time is 9:45 a.m.

Salt Brook School and Allen W. Roberts School delayed opening start time is 10 a.m.
All staff will report to their buildings no later than 9:30 a.m.

The Kindergarten schedule will be 10 a.m. to noon for the a.m. classes and 1 to 3 p.m. for the p.m. classes.

The Pre-Kindergarten a.m. class will not meet on delayed opening days. The Pre-K p.m. class will meet at its regularly scheduled time.

All Union County Vocational Technical Schools busing will follow the latest Union County Vocational Technical Schools start time.

Berkeley Heights:

Delayed times are:

Governor Livingston HS - 9:50

Columbus MS - 10:10

Elementary Schools - 10:25

Mary Kay McMillin ECC - pm preschool and pm kindergarten - 12:10 and Grade 1 - 10:45

No a.m. preschool or kindergarten

Mountainside:

GL students will also have a delayed opening. Buses for all students, including vocational students, will arrive two hours later than normal time. If there is a change students will be notified by 7:45 a.m.
