GL Boys Hoops Team Fall to St. Mary's in County Tournament
Lose to St. Mary's 53-47 in first round despite 24 from Kelley.
Forget the seeding.
Seventh-seeded Gov. Livingston knew that 18th-seeded St. Mary's of Elizabeth wouldn't be a pushover. After all, the team from Elizabeth had pushed the Highlanders to the limit in their first two meetings during the regular season.
In a game that was tight from start to finish, St. Mary's was able to break free with a 6-0 run to finish off a 53-47 upset in first round of the Union County Tournament.

Logan Kelley hit for a game-high 24 points for GL, including four three-pointers, while Kevin Ferguson chipped in with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Joe DeRosa hit for 17 points for the winners.
Gov. Livingston held a 16-12 lead after the first quarter, and a 26-24 advantage at halftime. St. Mary's (8-10) trailed by one entering the fourth stanza, and it was nip and tuck until the final minute. With the game tied at 47-all, St. Mary's took the lead for good.

Gov. Livingston will look to rebound against Chatham on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
The Highlanders (13-6) have already clinched a berth in the state tournament.
