Mara's Cafe and Bakery Opening in Berkeley Heights

Mara’s Café & Bakery, a casual, family-friendly café at 250 Springfield Avenue in Berkeley Heights is in the final phase of construction. Owner and franchise operator, Jackson Liu, is having the kitchen and counter finishing touches completed. Mara’s staff has begun training, the cappuccino and espresso makers are being tested and the bakery and gelato display cases are almost ready to be filled with Mara’s delectable desserts. The café is expected to open at the end of January, perfect timing for the Sunday, February 1st Super Bowl game.

In the spirit of a winter opening, Anna and Elsa from Frozen will visit Berkeley Heights Mara’s Café & Bakery on Sunday, February 8 from 9:30am -11:30am. All are invited to meet and greet these charming characters while you warm up this frozen winter with Mara’s hot breakfast, hot chocolate, coffee or warm apple pie.

Mara’s Café & Bakery has been recognized regionally and in New Jersey as the Best Coffeehouse, and has won numerous awards for its cheesecake, gelato, cupcakes, cannoli, sandwiches and more. The franchise will serve delectable desserts along with fresh roasted coffee, breakfast, lunch and dinner in a relaxing atmosphere. Plentiful indoor and patio seating is planned.

Mara’s was established in 1984 when Mara and Glenn Magley created a line of desserts and coffee products. In 2004, Mara’s Café & Bakery in Denville was opened and the product lines expanded to include soups, sandwiches, salads, quiches and handcrafted gelato. The menu has grown to include seasonal specials and freshly roasted coffee beans. All meals are made fresh to order for dine-in, pick-up and catering.
