Massage Chain Opens Branch in New Providence
Local Stephen Micciche opened the salon to cater massage therapy to residents' needs.
Stephen Micciche, owner of the new Elements Therapeutic Massage branch in New Providence, is on a mission to help area consumers experience the healing benefits of massage therapy services tailored to meet their unique needs.
The new massage studio, located at 1260 Springfield Ave., is aiming to create a niche by focusing on providing therapeutic massage services, he said.
While 80 percent of massages performed by therapists today are Swedish massages meant for gentle stress relief and relaxation, 80 percent of massages performed at Elements are deep tissue massages, including trigger point work to meet clients’ therapeutic needs, Micciche said.

“There is huge growth potential for Elements in the health and wellness industry,” said Micciche. “We’re focusing on providing deep tissue and customized therapeutic massage services, versus the cookie-cutter relaxation massage and discount spa services like facials that other massage concepts tout.”
Having worked in the corporate finance world for approximately 30 years, Micciche was eager to become his own boss and take the entrepreneurial path. As a runner, Micciche has always taken a special interest in the health and wellness industry, and he believes New Providence-area residents also hold these strong wellbeing values.

Once viewed as an expensive splurge, Elements is making therapeutic massage increasingly affordable and available to time-starved consumers. The new New Providence studio is open 7-days a week, welcomes walk-ins and offers a membership program that allows clients to receive regular, discounted massage therapy services throughout each month.
Elements Therapeutic Massage, Inc., based in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, was founded in 2006 by a licensed massage therapist. Elements is one of the fastest growing providers of therapeutic massage in the United States, according to the mission statement.
Today, Elements has 91 locations in 26 states, including the newest one in New Providence, which opened on August 18.
