Mountainside Man Arrested For DWI In Westfield
A Mountainside man was arrested for driving while intoxicated in Westfield recently, police reported.

WESTFIELD, NJ — The Westfield Police reported warrant, drug and driving while intoxicated arrests along with reports of burglary to a home and car in town. A Mountainside man was among those arrested.
Robert Munich, 65, of Mountainside was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop in the area of Woodland Avenue and East Broad Street in Westfield on April 7 at 11:48 p.m., Westfield Police reported.
He was transported to headquarters, processed and released to a sober adult.

On March 29: A resident of the 200 block of Hyslip Avenue reported being the victim of a burglary to their residence. Entry was gained through a second floor window in the rear of the house on March 29, police report. Stolen from the house were numerous pieces of jewelry. Burglary occurred between 6:30 and 8:15 p.m.

On April 9 at 7:30 p.m.: A resident of the 200 block of North Euclid Avenue reported sometime between 6 p.m. on April 8 and 10 a.m. on April 9 someone entered her car stole a pair of brown/purple colored “Dolce & Gabana” prescription sunglasses, one black/white colored Sears prescription glasses, one purple colored soft leather eye glass case and $2 in loose quarters.
The total value of the theft is $802. The car was parked, unlocked in the driveway of the victim’s home, police reported.
On April 2 at 11:24 p.m.: Luis Alvarez, 24, of North Plainfield was arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant out of Plainfield Municipal Court for $180 following a motor vehicle stop. He was processed and released after posting bail.
On April 3 at 11:32 a.m.: Shawn Kim, 46, of Fort Lee was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Weehawkin Municipal Court for $145 following a motor vehicle stop. He was transported to headquarters, processed and ROR.
On April 4 at 10:11 a.m.: Varathara Thambiah, 57, of Iselin was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Woodbridge Municipal Court following a motor vehicle stop. He was transported to headquarters, processed and released after posted full cash bail of $165.
On April 4 at 7:41 p.m.: Kelly O’Tode, 47, of Westfield was arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant for a traffic ticket. She posted bail and was released.
On April 4 at 8:39 p.m.: Ashton Lofton, 21, of Hillside was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop. He was transported to headquarters, processed and released on summonses.
On April 5 at 9:02 a.m.: Police responded to Bayside State Prison to pick up Bernards Jennings Jr., 60, of Plainfield who was wanted on a criminal warrant out of Westfield Municipal Court for $2,500, South Plainfield for $1,500, Plainfield for $525, and Scotch Plains for $250. He was transported to headquarters, processed and held pending a court appearance.
On April 4 at 8:36 p.m.: Nikolaus Yearwood, 20, of Roselle was arrested for possession of CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop. He was transported to headquarters, processed and released on summonses.
On April 5 at 11:06 p.m.: Anthony Ciuba, 53, of Cranford was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Elizabeth Municipal Court for $500 following a motor vehicle stop. He was transported to headquarters, processed.
On April 8 at 1:01 a.m.: Deshaun Robinson, 33, of Elizabeth was arrested on the strength of warrant out of Rahway Municipal Court for $150 and Roselle Municipal Court for $101 following a motor vehicle stop in the area of South Avenue and Windsor Avenue. He was transported to headquarters, processed and ROR’d on both warrants.
On April 8 at 2:31 a.m.: Selina M. Rodriguez, 20, of South Plainfield for possession of marijuana under 50 grams following a motor vehicle stop in the area of W. Broad Street and Palsted Avenue. She was transported to headquarters, processed and released on a summonses.
On April 7 at 3:51 p.m.: Joann Wibber, 55, of Bridgewater for possession of CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia at North and Conway. She was released on a summonses with a court date.
On April 8 at 8:38 a.m.: A complainant reported an assault in the 400 block of West South Avenue by a party known to him. No complaints at this time.
On April 9 at 1:33 a.m.: Anthony Russo, 26, of Edison was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on East Broad Street and Elm Street. He was transported to headquarters, processed and released to a sober adult.
On April 9 at 8:32 p.m.: Jonathan Simmons, 20, of Bath, PA was arrested for having an outstanding criminal warrant out of Denville Municipal Court for $1,700 following a motor vehicle stop on Central Avenue near West South Avenue. He was transported to headquarters, processed and was turned over to Denville Police.
On April 10 at 4:58 a.m.: Joie Tortorello, 26, of Garwood was arrested at Kenliworth Police Headquarters on the strength of an outstanding warrant out of Westfield Municipal Court. She was transported to Westfield Police Headquarters for processing and held in lieu of $2,500 bail.
