New Providence Man Arrested For DUI, Cocaine In Scotch Plains
Scotch Plains Police also reported fraud, theft, outstanding warrants and a DUI, according to the police blotter.

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — A New Providence man was arrested in Scotch Plains on multiple offenses, police report.
On Feb. 25, Rafael F. Aguirre, 33, of New Providence was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, possession of suspected cocaine and possession with intent to distribute suspected cocaine during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Jason Everitt, Scotch Plains Police report.
Aguirre was transported to headquarters,processed and lodged in the Union County Jail. Assisted by Patrolman Damian Serafin.

On Feb. 20: A resident on Julia Court reported a fraud. Victim states he received a threatening letter in the mail demanding repayment of money he never borrowed.

On Feb. 20: The management of the Scotch Plains Exxon located at 1800 Rt. 22 reported a theft of services. Someone payed the attendant with a suspected counterfeit bill.
On Feb. 21: Charrell C. Thompson, 28, of Rahway was arrested on outstanding warrants out of Rahway during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Scott Leyden. Transported to headquarters and
processed.
On Feb. 21: A resident of Duncan Drive reported a fraud. Someone gained access to their Macy’s credit account and made several online purchases.
On Feb. 22: Samuel V. Hanciles, 28, of Scotch Plains was arrested and charged with trespassing at the Quick Chek located at 1928 Westfield Ave. He was also found to have an active warrant out of Scotch Plains. Arrested by Patolman Chris Ostrowski.
On Feb. 24: Rasheed Z. Perry, 25, of Plainfield was arrested on outstanding warrants out of Plainfield, North Plainfield and New Brunswick by Patrolman Chris Ostrowski. Also arrested was Jason Okoro, 26 of Scotch Plains on an outstanding warrant out of Fanwood . Arresting officer was Patrolman Andrew Gitto. The arrests were the result of a disorderly persons investigation in the 1100 block of Jefferson Ave. Both parties were transported to headquarters and processed.
On Feb. 24: Charles Baumann, 27, of Union was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Scotch Plains during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Zack Vonlangen. Transported to headquarters and processed.
