New Providence Named Top Union County Town For Families: Report

The municipality was named the best for families in Union County and also in the top 20 for the state. See where other county towns ranked:

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ — New Providence was named the best town for families in Union County and also in the top 20 for New Jersey, according to a new ranking published by New Jersey Family magazine.

The magazine described New Providence as having "picturesque tree-lined streets to friendly neighbors, this borough is beloved by its residents."

It also notes that the borough is "brimming with family fun in the form of events like summer concerts, a fishing derby and fall street fair."

The magazine looked at towns with more than 1,500 residents, and took into account several key factors, including average home sale price, crime rates, school performance, commute time, and diversity. They then took that data to find the different rankings, including the best overall, best for commuters, and best large, mid-sized, and small towns.

New Providence was named the best town in Union County for families and ranked at 19th overall in the entire state of New Jersey.
