Route 22 East Closed In Hillside Because Of Fatal NJ Crash

A New Jersey highway's eastbound lanes were closed because of a fatal crash early Monday, officials said. Pictures of the crash showed the car underneath the rear of a tractor trailer.
Route 22 eastbound lanes were closed and detoured between Bloy and Broad streets in Hillside because of the crash investigation.
News12 and News4 New York confirmed that the crash involving a BMW was fatal. A 39-year-old driver died when he smashed into the back of the tractor-trailer as it turned into the McDonald's parking lot, police say.

Bus Route Nos. 65 an 114 are on detour in Hillside/Newark. Route 22 East is closed between Bloy Street and N Broad Street due to a motor vehicle accident/investigation. Bus service to Newark/New York will operate on Morris Avenue, Liberty Avenue, Bloy Street to Long Avenue.
