Two BH Buildings Are Demolished to Make Way for New Chase Bank

The arrival of Chase will mean four banks in the area including Springfield and Snyder avenues.

Springfield Avenue has lost two buildings soon to be replaced by a new Chase Bank, the Independent Press reports.

A former auto repair business was brought down Thursday morning during the sweltering heat wave as a small crowd of spectators watched. A second building next door, a Gulf filling station that once stood at the corner of Springfield and Snyder avenues had already been demolished, the article said.

After site remediation, construction on a new Chase Bank is expected to begin. The article noted that with the Springfield Avenue TD Bank, and branches of the Bank of America and Wells Fargo Bank nearby on Snyder Avenue, the new build will give the area four banks in all.
